Spike Growth + Wild Shape: Nysera's Concentration Loop
Chris breaks down a core druid synergy: cast Spike Growth first, Wild Shape second, and concentration transfers — letting Nysera maintain a battlefield control spell while fighting as a beast.
Druid has a lot of options. Two of them work exceptionally well together.
The setup: Nysera casts Spike Growth as an action, taking concentration. Then, as a bonus action, she Wild Shapes into beast form. The concentration doesn't drop — it transfers. She's now concentrating on Spike Growth as a beast, maintaining a punishing field of razor-sharp terrain while fighting in melee as an animal with its own HP pool.
Cast the spell. Transform. Fight. The spikes remain. Enemies who try to cross or retreat through the affected area take damage whether Nysera is watching them or not.
It costs nothing extra. It requires no special setup beyond the right sequencing. Action, then bonus action, in that order. Miss that window and you've wasted either the spell or the transform. Get it right and Nysera becomes two threats at once — the beast in front of you and the ground you're standing on.
