Just when the fight looks like it's settling into a rhythm, the pudding does the one thing black puddings are known for.
"Its reaction is to split up," Reece announces, and the table's plan gets rewritten in real time. "So, black pudding A and black pudding B. Black pudding A is on me" — Barzer's problem just doubled — "black pudding B is heading to Nysera."
One threat becomes two, on opposite sides of the fight, and nobody's turn order accounts for a brand-new combatant sliding into the mix. "Black pudding, going for you, Barzer," Reece confirms again, just so there's no confusion about who's now fighting what.
